Here are some of the tips Charles likes to share with other Duck Callers.
1. People who are learning to call ducks often try to start practicing with a cheaper duck call. Make sure that call you are learning on is capable of making the sounds you need. Find a good call that allows you to make the sounds correctly.
2. When you are calling ducks, make sure you sound like a duck. One of the best practice tools is a good quality audio recorder. Record yourself and play it back.
3. When working ducks in a field, remember to let them swing out far enough before you call to give them enough room to settle in when they come back towards your spread!
Charles enjoys mentoring new duck callers, and has cheered many of them through State and Regional Contest Victories and on to the World Calling Contest. He hopes to contine qualifying for the World's Championship Duck Calling Contest for many more years despite the increasing perssure from these new, younger competitors.
We are very proud of have Charles as a member of Decoy Outdoors "Team Decoy".
